Palace of the Arts Budapest (Hauptwerk) | Final from Symphony No. 1 – Louis Vierne

The Palace of the Arts Budapest organ contains 92 stops over 5 manuals (with 61 keys) and pedal (with 32 keys). This Hauptwerk sample set is incredible! It was released by Inspired Acoustics over a decade ago and I think it needs to be heard and used more often in the Hauptwerk world. I decided to play the final from Vierne’s 1st symphony as I recently played it in recital (so it’s still relatively under my fingers!). As you would expect from a large organ, the memory requirements for Hauptwerk are quite considerable. I have loaded this with truncated releases at 16-bit quality and a ~6 second (rear) reverb. Further tweaking also included detuning of each organ division.
