A CHRISTMAS PASTORALE – Adam Heron

From the composer: I wrote “A Christmas Pastorale” in December 2020/January 2021. “O Come, All Ye Faithful” is usually played fairly loudly, so I thought about writing a more reflective piece based on the hymn tune. I settled on the idea of a lilting pastorale, using the oboe and flute stops in reference to the shepherds.
I’m pleased to be recording this piece on the newly released Mátyás II sample set (Inspired Acoustics). It’s a 110-stop 1909/1984 Rieger-Kloss symphonic organ of the Notre Dame of Buda (Matthias Church), Budapest, Hungary.
