Ave Maria (tenor solo with organ) – Franz Schubert

This famous setting of Ave Maria by Schubert requires no formal introduction. I’m sure everyone has heard this one before and it’s been featured in movies and television (not just church!). Many thanks to Swell Vox member, Tony Lee, for his excellent rendition. Tony would often tinker around with this on the piano at our weekly catch ups, so I decided we’d actually record the piece. I took the liberty to orchestrate the accompaniment given the tonal resources of this Letourneau organ.
