CHRIST IS ALIVE, WITH JOY WE SING!

Alleluia!, Alleluia!, Alleliua! “Christ Is Alive with Joy We Sing,” is set to the hymn tune VULPIUS, composed by Melchior Vulpius in 1609. This was a live recording at the St. Patrick’s Albury Easter Vigil and it’s really inspiring how this hymn continues to uplift and inspire centuries after its creation.

Melchior Vulpius, a prolific composer and once a Latin teacher, Latinized his German name ‘Fuchs’ to create the tune VULPIUS. With a legacy of over 400 hymn tunes and numerous other works, his contributions to sacred music continue to resonate with believers worldwide.

As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I hope this recording helps you reflect on the miracle of Easter and the promise of eternal life. Many thanks to Benedict Wilson, Andrew Flores, Jeremy Kerr, Anthony Lee and Lachlan McIntyre (from L to R) for their contributions over the Easter ceremonies.
