Holy Trinity Mass – John Ross | SWELL VOX

It’s with great pleasure that I present to you a recording of John Ross’ “Holy Trinity Mass” with SWELL VOX. For those of you that have been following SWELL VOX, you’ll notice that we’ve been augmented with a few different voices. Asides from Tom and myself, we have Luke and Sean Lee (David and Tony’s younger brothers) and Josh and Sam Beckett. I’m very grateful that they agreed to come under the banner of “SWELL VOX” and record this beautiful Mass setting.

John Ross is an Australian composer and arranger, a graduate of Durham University, and a Fellow of Trinity College, London. In 1996 he retired as Senior Lecturer, Charles Sturt University and Director, Murray Conservatorium. In 2014 he retired after 30-odd years as an examiner (Piano and Written subjects) for the Australian Music Examinations Board. In 2016 he retired after many years as Director of Music at St. Matthew’s Church, Albury, New South Wales. In 2015 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to music as an educator, musician, choral director and composer. So quite a lot of history and connections here! Tom was also a boy treble at St. Matthew’s during John’s time as DoM at St. Matthew’s.
