Meditation on “Draw near and take'” (GUSTATE) – Vidas Pinkevicius

The hymn “Draw near and take” is one that has sentimental meaning to me. I’m very grateful to Vidas Pinkevicius (@SecretsofOrganPlaying) for composing this gentle meditation on the old Irish melody. The hymn tune is presented in the right hand part twice, first in the key of D major and then in F major. The piece ends in the home key of D major. A charming refrain connects the phrases of the hymn. This piece will be very effective in liturgical contexts and recital programs whenever contemplative music is desired.
