Meditation on “Nearer, My God, to Thee” for Organ, Op. 18 – Rien Schalkwijk

This famous hymn tune is used throughout the Christian churches and even in the movie “Titanic”. @RienSchalkwijk’s arrangement in E-flat major, places the melody in the pedals alongside strings and a rhythmic 8′ Flute ostinato. I recorded this piece on the St Mary-Le-Bow sample set by Lavender Audio using the Hauptwerk VPO software. The score is available for immediate download at SMP below:
