Meditation on “The Water Is Wide”, Op. 145 – Vidas Pinkevicius

This meditation draws inspiration from the Scottish folk song, “The Water Is Wide” (O Waly, Waly). The solo melody of the tune appears in both the soprano and tenor parts. The accompaniment maintains a simplicity that enhances its appeal and effectiveness. This composition is an excellent choice for weddings or any other event that invites thoughtful reflection. Unfortunately, the Trumpet stop of this organ is irregular in its speech and has many missing notes due to dust, so I have displaced the tune in an octave where it works.
