O Salutaris – Leo Delibes | Swell Vox

“O Salutaris Hostia” is a Eucharistic hymn written by St Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi. It’s appropriate to use during Communion or Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. This graceful two-part arrangement was written by Leo Delibes and arranged by John Haberlen. It was a pleasure to present this recording with the Swell Vox OG: David and Tony Lee, James and Andrew Flores.

O salutaris Hostia,
Quae caeli pandis ostium:
Bella premunt hostilia,
Da robur, fer auxilium.

O saving Victim,
Who expandest the door of heaven,
Hostile armies press,
Give strength; bear aid.
