Pastorale in F – Fraser Gartshore

I still haven’t been brave enough to try any of the jazz arrangements in @Fraser Gartshore’s “Piping Hot” at the organ collection…yet. However, his Pastorale in F is just sublime. Originally an improvisation and then scored for us later, the theme as the basis of the improvisation is the tune ST. CLEMENT. I associate this tune with the hymn “The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended”. A perfect piece for Evensong or even as a calmer work in recital. The score is available for instant download via the link below (or even a signed hard copy!). I recorded this on the magnificent Sonus Paradisi sample set of Rotterdam (main organ) using the Hauptwerk VPO software.
