Rorate Caeli – Pietro Yon | Hauptwerk Billerbeck

I discovered this beautiful collection of Advent pieces by my friend, @jerrymartin79. The first piece is Rorate Caeli which translates to “Drop down, ye heavens”. This text appears at several points in the Christian liturgy during Advent. Yon’s organ setting takes the Gregorian chant in alternatim—with full organ and a quieter accompaniment paired with a solo Oboe. I recorded this piece on the fabulous Billerbeck Dom sample set, using Hauptwerk, by Sonus Paradisi.
