Suite pour orgue – Denis Bédard

This suite was dedicated to Bédard’s wife, Rachel Alfatt, and is an original composition comprising three movements. The Prelude is very stately, majestic and full of colour. The Lamento is a movement of yearning with two solo voices whilst the Toccata is very much a display of the organist’s technical ability. The suite is Bédard’s typical blending of traditional organ writing with more modern elements, creating music that is both artistically rich and accessible. I recorded this on the mighty sample set of Rotterdam using Hauptwerk, sampled by Sonus Paradisi.
