VOLUNTARY V IN E-FLAT MAJOR – GEORGE GREEN | ST JOHN’S COROWA

Green was born in 1763 in London and was a self-taught musician. He was a prolific composer, writing over 200 pieces of music, including symphonies, concertos, and chamber music. This delightful voluntary, part of Green’s Six Voluntaries, is a typical example of organ music for manuals only, perfect for church or recital use. As with music of this period, the opening movement is a slow introductory section, followed by a lively Allegro movement.
